Cantos de Sirena was a co-production between the Lucerne Opera and the Cologne Opera House by La Fura dels Baus, directed by Carlus Padrissa. Cantos de Sirena is a bold and unconventional show that blends opera, cabaret, and poetry. It evokes the call of the mermaids in a fantastical world dominated by the legend of Faust.
The piece features an impressive technological setup: several arias are conducted by a robotic conductor arm, and part of the orchestra consists of a robotic ensemble of automated instruments. I was responsible for programming the music and movements for the robotic instruments.
